Flag for the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum - Pioneers of Flight Family Day

Smithsonian trip recap

Saturday, November 20th, was a grand day at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, with the opening of the amazing Barron Hilton-sponsored Pioneers of Flight Gallery. A record attendance of 42,000 visitors toured and participated in the many Family Day activities.
Bob had a great time bringing to life the story of the original world flight, and sharing the excitement of the Seattle World Cruiser Association’s program of building a reproduction 1924 World Cruiser and celebration world tour, on which the Family Day Flag will go around the world with all the happy signatures.
Cheers and thanks to all that signed the flag and the Smithsonian staff who made this great day possible!

Bob visited the Smithsonian for their Family Day celebration and the re-opening of the

He has designed a flag for visitors to sign at the event.  This flag will then go around the world during the flight of the Seattle II World Cruiser and be presented to Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum (NASM) upon completion of the flight.

Many thanks to Rick White for all his hard work with this custom made flag.  Rick is President of the Washington Kitefliers Association - click here to read more.
